I was there when they re-opened the Harper Canal, I just wish the power company would've let us guys on the lake edge know that they were re-opening the canal! We were soooo lucky to not get caught on the wrong side of the water.

The real fight after you catch a perch is in the air. The fish itself may seem calm in the water but as you lift it out it starts thrashing like mad.

The idea of needing a licence to fish in freshwater is ridiculous. I will never pay to fish in the river and i never have maybe one day i will get caught but they ain't getting my money . Try and catch me i bet yaz can't. Happy fishing suckers.

Gosh really interesting and definitely the makings of a research study. Would be great to see the learnings taken from this process typed up for wider dissemination. Perhaps even an opportunity for some reflection on how the process could be improved in the future.

Check your local rules, artificially sent lures can be classed as bait on certain rivers, and if its a fly/spin river unscented soft bait ok, scented not, as can be classed as bait.

I'm pretty grumpy with the way fish and game use both of my license monies. There is no need to be flying around in helicopters at thousands per hour to count salmon. Get a drone,or bloody well walk. My license fee is to promote salmon,not fly around on a jolly.

Take the treble hook off. It's less likely to get snagged, and its far more humane if you have to throw the fish back.

Got my first brown at lake Brunner today on my 5th cast under the Arnold footbridge ! A couple pounds and so bloody stoked! I only had about 20 mins free and it didn't disappoint!
